Overview

Lake Opeta is an important wetland containing a huge number of bird species several of which are endangered including the shoebill. The lake is a bird watchers dream – offering a very high chance of spotting the renowned shoebill as well as many other rare birds.

Also visit authentic fishing villages on floating islands, see how the fishermen live and the traditional fishing methods they still use.

Lake Opeta is calm and is very scenic - filled with lily pads. Take a boat ride in an original fishing boat to explore the area.
